Park City Mountain Kids Activites

Test your courage on the Kid’s Zip Line, Rope Course or Tubing! Kids’ Zip Line Our NEW kid-only zip line lets your little adventurer get the thrill of a zip line, but on a scale of their own. They’ll zip along at their own speed on a small version of our larger zip lines. Kids’ Rope Course Our NEW kid’s rope course serves up kid-size challenges for our younger guests. Just for kids, our ropes course will build your child’s confidence in their skills in a controlled and fun environment. Kids’ Tubing Here at Park City, the thrill of sliding down the mountain doesn’t end with the ski season. Our New kid’s tubing brings winter adventure to summer without the need for snow! *These activities are limited to 30-100 lbs. children only, approximately 2 to 11 years old. Children must wear closed toed shoes to participate on the Kids’ Zip and Kids’ Challenge Course.

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking on an open mountain trail is a feeling a freedom, a feeling of exhilaration, a feeling that taps into travel at its core: Sometimes you just need to be on the move! Take control of your wanderlust and spend your days climbing, cruising or just meandering throughout the 400+ miles of public trails available in Park City’s mountains. A Park City mountain biking vacation will rev your exploration engines, whether your seeking a steep screamfest or more mellow “let’s enjoy the scenery” terrain. You can even enjoy the reward end of “what goes up, must come down” without exerting the effort on the “up part.” With all three resorts–Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort–offering lift-served mountain biking, you have nothing but a green light for day after day of heart-pumping movement.

The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) designated Park City, Utah, as the first Gold Ride Center®. Once you buckle down in Park City with your bike (or one rented from the resorts’ full line up of rental options) trembling in anticipation, we can help set you on a course for unadulterated freedom and adventure.

Rider skill level definitions   ~

NEW RIDER:
This is your first time riding a bike off road ever or at least first time riding in a while. You may not know how to shift, use brake effectively or know anything about good body position. Mountain biking is completely new to you.

BEGINNER:
You have ridden a mountain bike off road at least a few times and you know basics of how to use gears and brakes. You can get over small obstacles in the trail like rocks, logs, low angle switchbacks. You can ride for 1-2 hour comfortably with only a few stops. You are comfortable on green and easy blue trails.

INTERMEDIATE:
You can easily ride for over 2 hours at a good pace without much stopping, you are comfortable on fast and flowy trails without stopping. You can get over most bigger obstacles in the trails climbing or descending such as rock gardens, large roots, most switchbacks, etc., and are exploring drops and jumps. You ride about 1-2 times/week and understand the basics of how your bike works. You are comfortable on all blue trails and many black trails. You may have done a race or two.

ADVANCED:
You ride regularly, 2-3 times per week and are comfortable on 3+ hour long rides. You understand good body position, bike and body separation and can manage most any obstacle without stopping. You are comfortable with air time, wheel lifts, technical terrain up and down. You may be doing big drop, jumps, manuals and riding black and double black trails. You may be racing in the expert or pro category.
